I'm interested in buying a '77 Jummy from a friend of my family. He has owned it since the early 1980s, and used it just as a plow truck for his driveway, but it really hasn't snowed here alot since then! (there was a wicked snowstorm back in the late 1970s here in Michigan) It has a 7-foot western plow on it (I don't want the plow) that's in excellent shape. The truck has 65,000(?) miles, 350v8 (valve covers too small to be a BB), 4WD, automatic, no desireable fact tach or roll bar, gets 6mpg, needs rebuilt, loose steering, loud exhaust ...it's red and white, lots of rust outside (needs all new quarter panels and doors, rocker panels too). Floor appears pretty solid, dang good interior other than sticky steering wheel, stored in pole barn since he got it- he fired it up in fall of '03 for a couple minutes for me. He said he'd give me the truck, but he won't seperate them. $1000 "for the plow". How much would you pay, or offer, or ask for?
You'd be hard pressed to get a good and complete plow setup for less than $750. So...overall, I'd say it's not such a bad deal.:TU: If you end up needing a decent running smallblock, shouldn't be too hard to locate one for reasonable money.
