Gosh, that was a nice car in its prime.. Hate to see it in a junkyard. Yes, 4 heel disc is rare option. It seems to be missing climate control and the astroroof to be TOP notch.

Interested in location of this yard.
I'll be at Clearwater beach next month and if it's not terribly far, I'll just come look at it myself. :bglasses:

    Austin,
Clw beach is 10 miles NW of this yard..will take you 20-25 mins to get there....car will still be there when you visit...should be perfect weather for the beach....Gulf temp is already 68-70 degrees.....perfect beach weather....bring plenty of sun block...it is intense.

    Rusty,
Riv did not have the wheel when I got to it...so no idea who got it.

    Lou,
Will go there today and check the mirrors...if pass is non-remote...will get them both.

I have the 77 All Buick sales catalogs. These 77-78 Rivieras were highly under appreciated. All had the sport wheel unless the buyer specified otherwise.

Let's see, 4 wheel disc brakes, front and rear sway bars (and that rear sway bar looks beefy to me) probably a posi, highway gears because of the 403. All from 1977. I don't see obvious rust so this was probably a decent car that someone just got tired of. $3.60 per gallon gas will do that.

If you can look it up, and are willing, I would LOVE to know how many 77s had the moonroof.

That information isn't the sales brochures.

If you click the link in his first post, this comes up:

According to the LKQ website, it has the Buick 350... :Do No:

Don't forget to mention the "stand-up" oil filler tube, a good way to tell an Oldsmobile engine from another GM engine with he distrbutor at the rear :TU:

the front snout looks like it was a direct inspiration for the 82? - 87 Regals.
lots of good interior parts there - very hard to find parts of that quality in the high desert (Chihuahuan)

The Siamese bypass on the thermostat housing is an Olds feature, too (403 Olds in the Florida Car)

That IS a Buick 350 (350 in the New Mexico Car)

See, I've noticed that in the two pictures of the "this car's engine," they are actually 2 different engines. The picture in the first post provided doesn't match the engine picture in the later post.

no offense to newmexguy, but I believe that the first picture is correct. (Judging by the bodylines)

    I'll confirm next week.

If you look a little bit better, you will notice that these are two different cars.
"newmexguy" never mentioned that the car in his photos is the same car, he was only pointing out something about the grille :TU:

Two of the many differences in the photos:

different engines in different cars, is what I was trying to say. But, I wasn't clear.

The New Mexico Riv has a 350 Buick

The Florida Riv has a 403 Olds

(I edited my earlier post to be more clear)
