I am doing a ground up on my wifes 80 regal removing the 3.8 and going with a 70 350 buick. took the frame out to fix some stuff what should i do to the frame to improve it. Box it, any frame stiffeners, i am doing a stronger than stock GS350 motor so i figured that i might as well do any thing now to help in the performance of the car while it is apart. it will have a 350 ,th350, and 3.42 posi. Any help will be appr. thanks:grin:

Regal frames are pretty tough. I don't think you need to add anything especially if your only going with a 350 motor.

Get the front frame tie bars from "A" or "G" body 2 or 4 door car to triangulate the front end. Install all the body bushings (missing from the factory) Do NOT install polyurethane bushings on all 8 positions on rear arms, use only 6; it will bind suspension if all 8 are done. Easiest to leave rubber ones in rear end itself.

Kirban's performance offers the front frame braces, a connecting brace and rear seat brace kits, which should be enough. Replace all the body bushings, and add the "GNX" bushing set (standard rubber-not poly), good set of springs and shocks, and maybe UMI boxed upper and lower rear arms. Add the GN front and rear sway bars and you should be good to go.
