    I think that's a good price.

If I were in the market, I'd think about it; but, I do like to have the added insurance of four-wheel drive.

Good luck with the sale. :TU:

Yeah most people up here want 4WD for the winter. His thought process behind buying 2WD trucks is 99.5% of the time he's on pavement and with 2WD, he doesn't have to worry about maintaining a front differential and a set of CV shafts wearing out. Plus 2WD trucks are less likely to trash ball joints and tie rod ends as quickly. That's his thought process and I suppose I see his angle.

IDK. I'd want a 4X4 for the "just in case" factor as well, but that's just me. Either way, it's a nice truck. It actually moves out really good when you need to push the skinny down. The Vortec 350 and 3.42:1 gear out back really moves it when you need to get into traffic.

Those are great trucks, and with only 115,000 miles it's barely broken in. My `96 has 254,000 on it and has shown no signs of getting weak. As for wearing parts out sooner with 4wd, in my case I haven't had to replace any of it. When I was very young my grandfather told me that nothing ever wore out from having too much grease. I just serviced it again yesterday. Yeah, it's messy underneath but everything still appears to be tight.

The standard cab lwb trucks are getting harder and harder to find, and for the price of that truck I'd bet you could drive it another 115,000 trouble free miles and it wouldn't owe you a dime.

Agreed.....my '96 standard cab lwb just hit 175,000 miles and still runs like a champ. The only problems I have had with it were intake gaskets being eaten up by the original formula "Dex-Cool" coolant, and a recurring failure of ignition switches. The "Dex-Cool" issue has been permenantly corrected, but an ignition switch failure every 75,000 miles???????

That will make someone a nice truck.

He had to do the intake gasket set at around 90K; a very common problem with the Vortec engines (the bottom 1/2 of the manifold is aluminum and the top 1/2 is plastic). I had a '96 Sierra I sold about 6 months ago and that gasket never went. I sold it with 127K. I guess it's just the luck of the draw.
