I am wondering if anyone knows how to de-activate the twilight sentinel. I don't like not having control of the vehicles lighting. I like to shut my lights off before I pull in to the drive at night so I don't flood the neighboors houses with light and it is also nice to be able to shut the lights off and sit with the engine running if im waiting for someone. I don't know if it is broken or something, but when the car is in drive the lights are always on run mode or if it is dark enough, the headlights are on; it is annoying. THanks

Sounds like you have daytime running lights (DRL) which is standard on new cars today. Not much you can do about the lights in the daylight. However, try this experiment. With the car running at night, move the headlight switch from sentinal to "running light" manual mode. When I do this in my Bravada, the headlights go off and the running lights stay lit. I can't totally shut off the lights like trying to sneak up an alley at night  You might have to remove the entire switch and replace it with a non-sentinal one.

We have a 99 Park Ave with the same Twilight Sentinel. Do turn off the feature, slide the lever to the left all the way past the detent on the slide switch. Slide it there and hold for a few seconds and that should turn off the headlights.
