    It's me again.

Instead of the original recommended/required 8-10 ohm speakers for a AM/FM Stereo radio from 68, can I install two 4 ohm speakers in parrallel?
Will this give the same impedance and effect on the radio, ie not "blowing" anything?

a pair of 4 ohm speakers paralleled ...is about 2 ohm..
the same pair hooked in series get you the 8 ohm you are lookin for.

Yep, two 4-ohm speakers in series gives you 8 ohms.

On a different note, if the stereo needed 8 ohms, and you use 4 ohms instead, you effectively increase your wattage.

You also run the risk of blowing the speakers or ruining the radio's output transistors.
