Thanks to Dan and Bob for another great event.
It may not have broken the record for highest attendance, but it had to be one of the best ever for weather conditions, car count was high 140's, and the stands were packed with spectators.
As usual, great times with great people, old faces, and new friends were made as well. It just keeps getting better.:TU:

A great show, as usual! I've always been a spectator, but I keep telling my wife it's time to buy an 8.5 posi with 4.10s for the Skylark to swap out and run in the "slower" group. What fun!

Thanks Bob and Dan!!!!! What a great time!!!! For all the work I put in this summer, the cuts, strained muscles, aches, pains and my knee that works the man pedal which I'll have to see a doctor about eventually it all came together Sat as the last 5 runs showed what the GT-37 with the mystery motor can do (funny my knee wasn't bothering me at all Sat  ). It's amazing what happens when you don't have a cracked balancer, oil soaked clutch, blown saf-t-trac and all the other misc things I uncovered over the last 6-10 months. There's still more in the car, but with running someone else's idea of a rebuild I don't think there's that much more (motor still has weak valve springs too). I just need to tune what I've got, work on launching the car and most importantly rebuild the way overdue front end and replace that cobbled up crappy exhaust system.

A somewhat funny thing, my shootout 2 years ago was against a yellow 69 Z/28 4sp car. I lost the first round as I found out he had some et and mph on me, but I won the next two. This year I drew a yellow 67 396 4sp Camaro. Again I lost the first round as he ran me down on the big end and I found out he had et and mph on me. Round two I pulled out my best run overall to date along with a great light and I didn't get caught. The third round was a bye as the guy loaded up and left for some reason. He didn't say anything to me, so I'm not sure but I still made a full pass anyway.

Great meet guys. Seems like it just gets better every year. Sorry to see so many of the old regulars like me there without cars, but really happy to see all the new people and cars. Noticed a lot of original colors there that you don't see at cruises, shows, etc. Flipped out on Riebel's 61 Catalina .....man does that bring back memories.

Even though I didn't have a car, I managed to see most of the people. Golf carts are cool. Talking with Ken Riebel's Dad at the fence, he asked, "does it seem like the cars are running faster each year?" We both laughed and knew it was a rhetorical question. Donny's kabob's and Benoit's catfish were awesome as usual.

Great event, my hat's off to Tim Clary for still showing up AND participating! JUst don't get too used to that girlie boy driving.....don't think that'll happen.
    :bglasses:

My favorite car of the meet had to be Tom Miller's big black Buick. What a rare combination and as usual a beautiful resto by Tom and his Dad (sorry he didn't make it) Brian sure can paint! He'll do the Ramrod if I can ever shake loose some change from social security....I'll come up with something. :bglasses:

Dan and Bob, Don't change anything...

Best story that I heard of the day? Pete telling about Bruno taking his big 61 Pontiac down to a meet with snow tires. "Leave it up to the Canadians....come down here and run low 12's on snow tires" (Blazteks?)

We'll be back out there next year......:bglasses:
