20x8 with 4.5 back space, 245/30 tires in front
20x9.5 with 5.5 back space, 285/30 tires in rear

    Misael,

I think that 285 is too width for the rear:

235/65/15 is a very common size in Europe for a Skylark.
    That's 15,2 cm + 38,1 cm + 15,2 cm = 68,5 cm total height

    245/30/20
    That's 7,35 cm + 50,8 cm + 7,35 cm = 65,5 cm total height

    285/30/20
    That's 8,55 cm + 50,8 cm + 8,55 cm = 67,9 cm total height

So there's no problem with the height, but squeezing a 285 in the rear....:Do No:

You can fit a 285 in the rear. I have 275/40/17 on the rear with over an inch on each side for more tire if I like. I personally wouldn't go over an 18" wheel for the skylark. The 19-20" wheels would be better suited for the Lesabre & Electra. Were you going to lower the car at all? That'll make a difference in the size tire you can run also. If you were going to do any suspension modification, do it first so you can get a better idea of what would fit best.

After I wrote this I went back to re-read your post. I have 9.5" wheels for the rear and you would want 5.75" backspacing to center the wheel inside the wheelwell. With that width there will be over an inch of space on each side.

These aren't 20's, but check out thisthread for an idea of how much tire you can stuff under there.

You can look here to see what 20's and 24's look like on a 68.
