Having trouble locating valve guide seals for a 215 I’m building. I’m pretty sure they weren’t used by the factory, as I’ve taken a few apart that had none, but I know they can be had. My valve stems are 11/32 nds, the guide measures .593 “ anyone out there know a part number for these buggers ? I also can’t find the rope seal for the rear main, the Felpro one , BS 13044-2, that everyone tries to sell me, doesn’t fit.

The guides tops need to be cut for 530" OD positive type seals.
You can buy the needed cutter to do this if you have a drill that can take a 1/2" bit, or have a shop do it for you.
The 1/2" drive size drill is needed for its power, not that it can take a 1/2" bit persay!

These type seals will eat up a bit of the clearance you had below the retainer at max valve lift so check that you have atleast .030" there!

You will need a cheap plastic installation tool to drive the seals on also.
Between the seals, cutter and tool along with shipping cost you might be looking at 140 bucks.

Bruce, there has been a good bit of development in valve seals so that is something I tend to buy separately after finding what I want in an online search. Generally it just has to have the right stem size, diameter, material and construction. Viton seals have become popular, maybe more so than teflon. I tend to use an umbrella seal on the exhaust side to allow better stem lubrication. Those are available in silicon now. Last set of heads I spec'd unbrella all around but that's with titanium valves, the idea being to protect a more expensive set of valves.
