What do I need to do to make a 28-10.5-15 slick fit under a 72 skylark. I know I need a 10 inch wheel with a 5 inch backspace. Any thing else?

You shouldn't have to do anything. We ran 12.5 x 28.5 on our 72. Then went to 11.5 x 26. Now to a 10.5 x 30. No rubbing even on the street.

You can use a 15x8" wheel with a 4" backspacing would be fine. But the 15x10" would be better.

I ran 28x12.5" tire for a while on my GSX. Ran then on the street, and it only rubbed around sharp turns, when I was going a little bit too fast. Only thing that I did was hammer the outer lip on the fenderwell.

Cool looks like they will fit. :Brow: It should work better than street tires. Tyler I need some parts for my 72 do you have any hood hinges?

I run a 325/50R15 tire out back on a 15x10 wheel with 5-5/8" backspacing. I did have to roll/cut back the top of the fenderwell to insure no rubbing and I did put airbags in the rear springs to keep the back of the car from bouncing too much on the road.

From what i have seen 5 1/2 backspace is needed on a 10' wheel.I have 5 3/4 on mine with the wheel-lip rolled.

Those wheels will work great. These cars are not all the same. They were not built to exacting standards back then. You can aways shim them out up to 1/4" with the stock wheel studs without any problems.

I'm not a fan of wheel spacers.I know the cars are all different as mine are from side to side.If i was to do it over again i think a 6' back space would be almost perfect for my car with a 10.5 radial tire.I can't say a 10'rim with a 5' backspace won't work. The cars I've seen all run 51/2 to 6 bakspace on a 10' rim.
