i really want to put some 17s but i want some fat tires on the back can i put 295s on the back of a 70 lark?i want to buy some boyds smoothies 2. 17x8 on the back can the 295s fit or should i just put 275?also what kind of backspacing do i need?in the front i want 17x7 with a 225 tire what backspacing do i need ?thanxs for the help
Hi, yes the 295 tire will fit. That tire is 11.6" wide. My 325's are almost 13" wide. With an 8" rim, you will want 4.5" of backspacing to center it in the rear wheel well. With a 7" rim, 4" will do it. The tire does only have a 26.25" diameter and a lot of our factory tires were in the 26" to 27" range, so speedo error should be minimal and easily corrected with a speedo gear swap.
