Is it me or when I look at bf goodrich (radial TA) and at GoodYear (Eagles GTII) they dont seem to make 295 50 r15 tires anymore???! Damn, this sucks bad! Im really a GoodYear guy and wanted some 245 60 15 in front and they dont make em anymore, and then I thought I could maybe go really wide insted of the 245 up front and thought maybe 265 50 15 would look nice, they dont make em anymore too!!!! and now the almighty 295 50 15!!!!!!!!!!! Man whats up at the Good Year HQ??????Is it part of the recession..... what do you guys think...

It's not the recession, it's everyone going to the 16" and 17" rims and the 15s aren't as popular anymore. I was wanting to do the same thing, 235/60-15 on front and 275/50-15 on back(BFG TA) and can't do it. They don't make the 275/50-15 anymore. Tried to find 245/60-15 and 295/50-15 and same deal, can't find em in stock, probably be discontinued soon as well...I was trying to keep my tire od's the same so I could just have 1 size spare in the car, not 2...

You can still get the drag radials in the 275/50-15 size but I don't want to drive around on drag radials all the time.

Didn't check, but I'm betting you can find the comparable size/width in a 16 or 17 fairly easy...

DAMN dunk fashion rims!!!! If those hip hop trend setting basta**s had not started that sh*tt we could still get that classic look with a wider twist to it!!!! Damn 2000s....... I found that cooper cobra still has a lot of variety in the 15s, they ressemble alot the bf goodrich radial ta (cooper cobra radial ta..duh) even writen the same way, but the thing is, I want GoodYear writen in white on my tires!

Phil It really *is* a 350...

I've been searching for tires for my 15"s too, and came across the Nitto NT 555R Drag Radial in the following sizes:

    P275/50R-15
    275/60R-15
    325/50R-15

Best I can find on the front are Nitto NT-01

    225/45ZR-15

I've got BFG Radial TA's on my car with 235/60R-15 fronts and 265/50-15 rears. Last I could find BFG 245/60-15s were almost 6 years ago. I ran them front and rear on my 98 Astro Van. I ended up having to switch to Goodyear NASCAR 235/60-15s until they stopped making them and now I run Goodyear GT II 235/60-15s on the van.

I also found that Coker Tire has 245/60-15 BFG Radial TAs listed at $93 each and 295/50-15s listed at 129 Each. That's probably your best bet, and those prices are pretty good considering I think that's less than what I paid for mine back in the mid-90's

Try Firestone Firehawks. I have the 295/50/15 on the back and 235/60/15 on front, looks good and decent pricing.

I have spent a lot of time the past couple days trying to get an adequate profile and size in a decent rubber compound to fit the 15 x 7 factory rim is futile. Nothing with a better than T speed rating.

As stated below, the rim size is obsolete in the new market place. 255 / 60 / 15 is the biggest tire that fits properly on the 15 x 7 rim.

So, now which make to buy? Here is what I have concluded so far:

GOODYEAR: To me, the Goodyear Eagle GT-II 102S is too much money ($130 each + M&B) considering it is not the most optimum compound and I am going to be replacing them more often due to the BBB characteristics. Likewise, the Assurance only goes to 235 / 70 / 15, a better compound, but not best profile and $180 each, no way.

COOPER: I ran the Cobra's for years way back. They are a good tire, but, still are just a passenger car tire, speed rating. A good choice for having to concede that there are not better tires for the money in most markets. I found the best price around here from a tire shop for about $110 + M&B.

BF Goodrich: Basically the same characteristics with the Radial T/A as the COOPER Cobra's. I decided to go this route because I was able to pick up a wholesale deal.

I decided new tires are better than old tires even if not the best tires. Once they run through the heat cycles so many times, they are shot anyway, even though they have tread on them. Buy tires that are the least expensive as you are going to replace them as often as expensive ones.
I decided to run 255/ 60 /15 on the rear and 245 / 60 / 15 on the front. I have the 175's BFG Drag force on the 8" rims for when I want to change up, but again, who wants to drive around on those all the time?

I have some P295s, however they are Dunlop Qualifiers. I do believe they still make them. The rubber is a harder compound. They don't seem to grip as well as other tires. But a lot of that hinges on your right foot. They will fit on a 15 X 7, but don't look or function like they should. That's one reason I'm switching to a 15 X 10 rim. John B.

a 275 "fits" on a 7" inch rim , but it will crown in the center and burn the middle right out of it, and also present a bouncy ride.

I have a second set of BFG Radial TA's 295-50-15's on back order. BF goodrich tells me they are still available but just on back order. They told me 4 more weeks and the local dealer tells me Oct. If they get enough calls then they might speed up production. I think that their trying to load up the orders before they make a run of them. They also told me that Michelin took over the BF Goodrich tires.
Call them, call them, call them. They are the perfect fit on the rear of my 70 GSX with Specialty Wheels 8" wide Buick repro. rims.
The squeaky wheel gets the tire!
Again, Hound them until the get them outto the warehouses. Mine are coming from Reno warehouse I'm being told.

Last year I had no problem finding BFG's 245/60 -15's for the front and 275/60 -15's for the back.

I got a set of MT street radials on a second set of rims for the strip (275/50 -15's).

I was hoping to get a set of BFG 295's for the rear once the 275's wear out but what I'm reading on here is not good news.:(

    Ive been stink-eyeing the Mickey Thompson tires. They list a P225, 235 and 245 60R15, plus they list a P295/50R15 for $130.99.

Talked to my tire guy today @ America's Tires and he said it still looks like Oct. ...confirmed that with BF Goodrich. Keep calling your Bf Goodrich dealer and they might speed up a production run if they get enough calls.
