OK you V6 guys, I have a FWD V6 Century and have a chance to buy a late model superchaged V6 from a 2000 or so Buick. The superchager is not included but my question; Is engine the same as the older V6s as far as making it work in my 84 Century. I would be putting a distribitor and my carburetor type intake on. AL.

One obstacle you'll face is the later model engine has a gerotor oil pump in the timing cover. Since the later model engine is distributor-less, there is no hole for the distributor (if I remember correctly). I'm not sure if your oil pump/timing cover will work on the later block. :Do No:

I thought I heard there was a "dummy" plug in the hole at the distibutor area, AL.

Could be, I can't remember. However, I'm pretty sure there is no drive gear on the end of the cam of the newer engine to turn a distributor/oil pump.
