I forgot to include in my recent posts that the fuel smell was gone after a day or so. I don't know what the deal was with that. Actually, the worst of the problem now is catching it happen. I drove it last night and it was fine. But I was outside today when my wife came home, and heard it. Then I drive the car tonight and it doesn't act up. But, it's a sputtering issue now, the rpm surging was gone after I did the cleaning. I think it's trying to screw with my head! Wouldn't be the first car that has tried that!

Maybe I try this next :Brow: :blast:

i would put another can of sea foam through the gas tank when your down around 1/8 of a tank and drive it till your light comes on and then some. try to almost run it out of gas without actually running out of gas. i also would put another can(the whole can) in through a vac hose. how big was the cloud of smoke and how thick was it when you put the first can of sea foam through a vac hose? if it was fairly thick then you probbably didnt get all of it the first time. but then again i put a can in through a vac hose every time i cange my oil and ever time it makes a fairly large cloud. it runs like it just had a tune up!

I don't recall how much smoke came out. I think I will try the Seafoam again. It and the cleaning certaintly did make a difference! We will see......
    Thanks,

    Brian,
The Seafoam frequently fouls the plugs when introduced through the vacuum line. After you are done, and the exhaust clears, change the plugs.

    3.8 question

will you guys please stop it with the seafoam! like larry said it will foul your plugs. have you checked the price on some G.M. double platinum spark plugs lately? about 18.00 bucks a piece. seafoam can sometimes bring back to life a dirty injector for a while. put it in the fuel tank, not through the vacuum lines. putting it through the vacuum lines might also damage your O2 SENSOR.

I replaced the 1,3,5 plugs before I used that last time....... I didn't tackle the rest yet because the looked like they were going to be a bitch! I hope I didn't foul the new ones. My wife didn't report any problems tonight, maybe it's working itself out  . I will hold off on Seafoam and see what happens. I know you have a Riv' Larry, but how difficult was the rear bank yo change on your car? I think I will have to remove some of the larger hoses to get my hand back there. It may not be bad then. The biggest problem with the front bank was getting the boots unstuck without damaging the ends. And those were a piece of cake to get at. Thanks,

    Brian
