i put the Buick carbs on a Buick 350 and ran them to be sure everything was ok. they will need final tuning on whatever engine they go on but they all run and idle good.

Ok I see you have the date code on the tag in one of the pictures. Just a few questions though.

How come the 70 is missing from part of the stamping?
Do you know what the Lg plant was?

i have another one too that has a different date code. some of the early 69's didnt have a date code stamped on the body instead they were stamped on the base.

    what date code you need?

alot of the early carbs were missing the "70" i dont know why. no i dont know what the LG plant was.

the other 7029242 carb i have is dated 2198 which is 219th day of 1968, its stamped on the base there is no date stamp on the carb body.

My build date is the 3rd week of july of 69.
The reason I asked about the 70 missing on the stamping is I don't want to get stuck with a carb that has been re-stamped.

Ok I still have intrest in the gs400 carb. I am trying to just make sure that is correct for my car. Do you have any idea what the Lg stands for? Do you know if cars that were built and sold in california if they had a special emissions standard carb?

the LG is the plant code, although i dont know what one. i will check all the 68 69 carbs i have and see what the codes are on them and do some comparing. i dont think the emissions started until 1971 at that time the 5th number in the stamp would be a 5. for example a 1971 455 48 state emissions carb would be 7041240 where a 1971 california carb would be 7041540.

Thanks for clearing that up regarding the cali emission standards for 69. I think the date code for the 154th will work. I believe that was June 3rd 69 My car was built the 3rd week of july of 69. Im just trying to find out if the LG customer code is correct.
Sorry for all the question I want to get the right one the first time around.:beer
