There was an interview with a longtime test driver for I think Pontiac in which he talked about all the types of trans they destroyed while getting on GTOs with a vengence. He said there was only one brand of 3 or 4 speed trans they could never break. That was..........a Dearborn ( Ford) 3 speed.
Bill: cast iron GTO tranny. Bill and others. I just happen to have a cast iron 4 speed saginaw trans AND correct Hurst shifter AND the console from a 68 GTO. I am asking a very reasonable $450 for it ALL! Anyone with ideas on who might want this setup? Where I should go to sell this stuff? My 70 455 had the original 3 speed in it when I got it and it was for sure not a top loader. I'm almost positive it was a Muncie but the only part I have left is the side cover. I pulled it off to inspect the damage after I blew it up! It was the original tranny for the car.
Don't remind me, the damage to the bimmer was $4200. I'm just gonna kill them both and call it a day. Hey I got the big red pig through emissions!! :3gears:
