3 work order pages on a 455 rebuild help in interpretation of the work done. The HP was increased to about 450HP and if any one can view the work order and give me an opinion on the work don it would be appreciated. VIC
Doesn't look like they changed the cam and they charged you twice to take out and disassemble the engine?
I agree, doesnt say anything about a cam. New, old, busted, what? I think the 72.00 is their standard rate for labor. I see it several times on your bill for several items. Pull engine, rebuild, set to factory specs, etc.
The cam is included in the "engine kit" on page one. I agree with Brian. $72/hr is their shop rate, and it took 2 hours to remove the engine, and 2 hours to disassemble it. (which both seem very reasonable to me) Vic, I went straight to the last page to see the total first, and my first instinct was that the price was a little steep for a "stockish" rebuild. But after reading the invoice in detail I can see they did alot of work, including actually taking the engine out of the car, and replacing just about everything on it including your starter and alternator. The only thing I might be curious about is where they came up with the 450 HP number? Looks like they installed a stock cam and pistons (assuming the "engine kit" was a "stock" one), kept your stock intake, and rebuilt your stock carb. 350HP sounds about right to me. o No: Does it feel like it has some more kick? :Brow: :beer
It looks like the cam is a comp cams unit. Here is what I found on a search of the part number: CCA-96-203-4 268H 268/268 218/218 .469/.469 110 1200-5200 119.95
