Where does the 307ci fit into the mix? My Electra has one, and Im looking for performance info, more specifically, compatibility info. I mean, its a Park Avenue, but I must be able to sneak some more pony's under the hood. 0-100 is painfully slow, even with an almost empty tank.. about 14seconds!! LOL Im not tryin to win any comps here, just a little extra juice to get moving when I need to. UPDATE 04.19.03 Car is now for sale. $4000CND. Please check the 4Sale Thread for specifics. Tell a friend! Great for second family car, or just summer cruising fun.
The 307 is an Olds motor. You can probably get some help here, but I think that oldspower.com might be more helpful. HTH. matt Gandenberger
But that GM thinking lead to them just using the "old" LT1 350 as the base line motor for everything when the Corvette got a new engine. That made some no option cheap Camaro's and Truck's a real buy. Matt
www.realoldspower.com might be what you were referring to:TU: I say find a 455 and cram it in!!
307's are great crusing motors (have 1 in my olds), but make lousy performance one's.....I was a member Realoldspower and got lambasted about it...so I just left, and never went back. Buick guys are a special breed, and the nicest guys you ever wanna meet....keep us posed on your project, and I'm sure we will help as much as possible along the way....1 more thing buick 350's are a plenty on this board for cheap...I'm sure you would be much happier with that then the 307 for performance. Larry :TU:
A Buick 350 is better than any other 350 made so it is nice. [And it is.] A hot spark, lots of fuel / air and a 350 can be cool. I make many people very un-happy with my Buick 350 wagon. Matt
Now is this something I'm gonna have to build from parts catalogs, hunt in boneyards to find a burnt out one? Or is there anywhere that has a crate Bu350? I need something quick, painless and easy. I wonder if my stock tranny will do the job too.
The TH200 might burn up in stock form... but it might be ok. TA Performance might build one for you ... or you could find one here (like someone already said, there is a ton on this board) and you might be able to find one in the junkyard (I have a 1970 Bu350 but it is powering my car for now so you cant have it p )
