    Hello everyone,
I just joined this group hoping for answers, Im 17 from New York (so my buick is away for the winter) and am now saving money from not having to pay so much for insurnace/gas. I was hoping to do some upgrades, which included headers, flowmasters, 4 barrel intake/carb, a performance cam, and some chrome under the hood (air cleaner, valve covers, braided hoses). Ive been able to find an air cleaner, hoses, cam and flowmasters. Starting to get desperate looking for the other things, am considering just getting my valve covers chromed by a local shop. Does anyone on here know of any headers made for a 340? Chrome Valve covers for a 340? Is anyone selling/know of anyone that sells a 4 barrel intake for a 340? Anyway to modify a 350 intake to make it work on a 340? Thanks for the information, I look forward to learning some new things about buicks.
    Happy New Year
    Joe Colvin

Hi Joe, I am a newbee too. My name is Mark and I'm from Mass. I took my Buick out today since the snow and salt washed away. Filled her with some 100 octane and went for a cruise. It's the car's 37th birthday so we had to celebrate. You can find headers for your 340 at Poston Enterprises or postonbuick.com. They are $329.00(ouch). I have read that the stock exhaust manifolds flow very well due to the design. I have 2-1/2 exhaust and some turbo mufflers(sounds great!) The 4-V intake may be a tough one. You can try ebay search under buick 340(and others) and you may have some luck. Also oldbuickparts.com, gmrestoparts.com- year one and TA performance specialize in Buick performance parts. If you go with the headers, I would get some kind of heat shield to protect the starter from heat soak, headers are know to fry starters on GM 60's vehicles. Happy New Year! Mark
