I have a 67 California GS that came with a 340, I bought a 455 (+ turbo 400 tranny) (1970) to replace the 340 and 2 speed. I need help with the motor mounts needed and the oil pan change needed to put the 455 in. If anyone has the mounts or the pan please let me know ! thanks

    www.TAperformance.com for the mounts.

I suspect that you want to use the short tail TH 400 . If yours is from a B, C or E body you need to convert it or get the short tail version.

    Jim,
Thanks for the info ! I am just starting in this so what do you mean by a short tail ?

There are long tail shaft TH 400s on big body Buicks and short tail TH 400s were on A body 400 and 455 cars. If the trans you have was from a big body Buick you are unlikely to want to use it. You will either have it converted to the short shaft or you need to get an original short shaft trans.

K.long I have a set of 67 GS 400 frame mounts and a pan with a rear sump and the pickup. $150.00 plus shipping for both. If you are interested I can post pictures and give you the details. Thanks Bill.

Ta is selling a new stock type replacement pan as well that I believe holds a tad more oil. I bought one 2 months ago and installed it on my 65/ 455.
