340 vs 350

    Question on the exhaust manifolds. Are the outlets close on the 340 and 350? In other words, would a "Y" pipe fit a 340 and a 350?

    They may be close, you would have to compare the exhaust manifolds.

    walker p/n
    40429 is 350
    40244 is 340
    40237 is 300 and v6 for 67
    i have a 350 y pipe

    Not very well! So in 68 the LeSabre was only offered with single exhaust- even the "400" option.
    I purchased a 66 dual exhaust for a LeSabre 340 and made it work in the 68 with 350, but the driver's side is decidedly different in angle and length. Passenger side was pretty close.

    I believe the “400” was in reference to the Turbo 400 transmission, not engine size.

    yes - in 1968 (maybe other years) the 4Bbl 350/400 trans was referred to as a "400".
