I've done some quick "noodling" and figure we can "just about" get what we want out of the 71 if I part it out, especially taking into account that we could keep several things off it that we would otherwise need to buy for the 70GS. (brand new rear spoiler for one..... We can save $230+ right there!)
And more importantly, we can start getting rid of the car immediately. I'm tired of doing "the shuffle" around here, and more tired of wiping the snow off all the cars everyday. You can't sell a car with 5" of snow on top of it.... partially because no-one can tell it's for sale. :gt:

Anyways...I haven't had much dealing with SBB's so I don't really know what they're worth.

Whats a 350-4/TH400 that you can "drive before buying" worth?
It has less than 5000 miles on it (probably closer to 2000 miles). It has a small cam, stock heads, and a cast iron intake. The tranny is fairly fresh with a 2800 stall B&M torque converter in it.

    ....penny for your thoughts....

I am not good at prices but here goes.

    $1500?

If you were closer I would get it for my 350 car. But of course cheaper?!?!?!?!?!?

I wouldn't have guessed near that high Jimmy.

Just to be clear... I am only talking about the engine and trans. (no car)
Is that what you were talking about?

  4. I would not put the value that high either. More likely $750-$1000 maybe. And that could be high yet. Demand for sbb's isn't very high, generally speaking. The TH400 is worth as much as the engine, probably.

I told you I wasn't good at this!:(

I've only built BBB and I know how much that costs....ouch!

I just bought a 1970 350/350 combo with 56K miles for $175 after it drew zero bids on E bay. The TH400 is even more worthless. I'd say a good price range from needing rebuilt to running great and possibly rebuilt would be Free-$500.

Quite a range of opinions so far. :gt:
I was guessing in the $600 range, so I guess I'm not too far off.

    Any other opinions?
    :Do No:
