Does this look like a stock 1969 Skylark 4 speed set up? Has a GS hood. Bench seat throwing me off. Trying to see i n person.
No, but that doesn't mean it's not for sure although woukd be rare w/AC. Someone could've switched the handle & boot - The correct boot isn't available.
I have to agree that this looks like a really cool project. If it is not original, then in many ways that frees you to do whatever you envision for the car. (Coming from a guy who has a manual transmission 4 door Skylark that has been converted from column to floor shift, so perhaps I'm a little bit biased ...)
I dont disagree. I turned my Special Deluxe into GS tribute 455 with midnight lightning shifter. Im just considering the costs of parts; bucket seats are getting pricey and the last shifter console I saw was $1700.
We saw this bench seat 69 Skylark at the BOP show in Auburndale and John (Waterboy) got a picture of it. They modified the bench seat to work with the shifter location. We guessed that it may have a Tremec in it, due to the shifter location.
Here’s a picture of the interior of my 69 GS factory 4 speed/AC/Bench Seat car. Hope it helps. I can take some more when I get home but this is all I have in my phone at the moment. Don’t mind the diaper and wipes in the front seat haha my youngest child rides with me all the time. I’m now an expert at getting a car seat in the back of a GS lol.
It’s definitely a fun ride! I put a 455 in it but the original 350 is in the garage. Numbers matching M21 is still in the car.
