The gasket kit I bought was for all buick 350's from 68-80. The intake will work aslong as it's from a buick 350, but I don't think they made them in 66. Check the #'s on it.

  3. what would it be if it not a 350? it looks like a 350. where would i look on the motor to make sure?

I think Buick cast the engine size on the back of the block or intake, above where the trans mates up.

'68 was the first year for the 350, in '66 I think you'd probably be looking at a 340, and I don't think anything interchanges 340 and 350.

But any year 350 intake should fit any year 350. Only difference I know of is the choke coil mounting, in '72 they went to a stupid hole in the crossover passage, instead of just a depression. They like to leak exhaust beside the carb :spank: ...

  5. James is correct, 68 is the first year of Buick 350 production, as I stated in that other thread. I'm not sure how you would identify the 340 engine. I'm sure the intake will not interchange.

    skitzofrenic66 What's an Import?

ive still got the stock intake on my 72 350 if you need pics...lemme know.

  10. Doesn't look like a 350 to me. If it were, you should be able to spot a "350" cast into the bell housing behind the intake. I think mine also has it cast into the lower rear on the block. I do not know what you would find on a 340. How about posting some identifying #'s off that engine, maybe someone can id it for you.

  11. thanks, i'll get some numbers when i go out there later and post them. maybe it'll say on the back of the motor as well.

One way to identify a 340 is the exhaust ports on the heads. They are evenly spaced apart. The 350's center ports are beside each other.

Just to let you know that 340 4 barrel intake you have are very hard to find. When I was trying to find mine over the winter months it took me 4 hard months of searching every night to find it, and it was out in arizona. I bought mine for $75 but was willing to pay upwards of 100. You might want to try and sell it, if someones looking Im sure you could get some decent money for it.
