doing a transplant from a 350/350 car to 455/350 car seems i need the 350 flywheel instead of the 455 one that came with it cause flywheel to torque converter wont bolt up. price and shipping to 72023. thanks correct me if i am wrong, i am using the 455 flywheel and it doesn't line up to the 350 trans,

Just to get the right terminology here, a flywheel is used on a manual transmission. A flexplate is used on an automatic.

If you have a 455, you need a 455 flexplate, you cant put a 350 flexplate on it. So that's not your issue. What exactly is the issue? Do the bolt holes not line up?

yes flexplate does not line up. thought i had the 455 one on it instead of the 350

i might have got them mixed up. so using a 455 engine with a 350 tranny requires the 455 flexplate?

GM didn't put T-350s behind big blocks. I'm not sure if Buick flexplates interchange between small & big blocks; I know that Olds does.

i relize that it didn't come with it and i have seen a bunch of these conversions, what i'm unsure is of is what flexplate do you use , the 400 one that was with the 455 one or the 350 one that was with the 350. seems like its the 455/400 combo flexplate. i must have in the swap grabbed the wrong one if this isn't lining up

Yes, and the converter fits both a T350 and a T400. So what exactly doesn't fit about it?

A 455 flexplate and a 350 are very different looking. Maybe you have them confused?

i thought i had the right flexplate, the one i have; the holes on the flexplate don't line up on the 350 torque conv. i thought i was using the 455 one and needed to use the 350 one. it seems i HAVE the 350 and need the 455 one. i think..

Some 455 flex plates had two sets of holes for 11" and 13" converters from the factory. If your flex plate only has one set of holes it is 13" only.

    Doe a 350 flexplate even fit on a 455?

You need a 455 flexplate with the two sets of holes for the converter...

I never knew that some 455 flywheels aren't double drilled. I checked the ones I have and they all seem to be double drilled

ok i went home took some pictures. I am 99% this is the 455 flexplate. so like others stated i need to get one that is double drilled to line up to the torque convertor. Next question is where? rockauto or would someone have one on the board to sell..

If you put a pressure plate and clutch disc on that it won't last too long.
