Hello all Okay so I've been surfing around to all the assorted sites trying to decifer the numbers on the 350 I have that is soon to be rebuilt for the 'lark..... Should have asked the board first but didn't want to bother them with what I thought to be a simple thing to find out. Its not!!! Numbers as follows 70Z 113869 - front left of engine block SP 255 - left front between front 2 cyl. What do I have? How do I decifer these numbers? Help Thanks everyone Drew :beer
the 70Z is probably 40Z 4 - Buick 0 - 1970 Z - assembled at Freemont CA 113869 - the serial # of the car it came out of (probably 434370Z113869) SP - engine code - 315 HP GS350 motor 255 - engine production code (matches P-O-P for original car) HTH
Drew. You have one of the best 350 Buick motors that were put in a Buick. 315 hp is the highest hp. Has 10.25:1 compression too.:TU: Will be a great motor top put in your car.I am building one now for my 71 hoping to get mid 13s out of it. Pat :TU:
Thanks Pat Guess I did pretty good. A friend of mine who owns a wrecking yard gave me the motor! Drew:grin:
