I am using a stock 4bbl manifold with a spacer to fit the Edelbrock? It's funny the carb has a Edelbrock tag on the front but is stamped Holley on the side I am runnung an Accel HEI unit with stock mech. advance springs & weights. Still trying to figure out the best way to time it? I am currently 4 degrees advanced at idle but I'm told there is a better way to time it. Something about 2600 rpm's turn dial on timing light to 36 degrees advanced and turn dist. to 0 or something????? I can't figure it out. It seems from what I'm reading I'm under carburated and maybe the spacer is causing some issues?? Maybe I should just get a Qjet and get rid of the spacer and hope I don't have to tune it?
There is an extraordinary thread on power tuning on this site. It's 13 pages long so plan on spending some quality time reading it. Tons and tons of practical information with a simple explanation of why you're doing each step. Search for "Power Tuning" and you'll find it. John
