im polishing some valve covers for this guy.

    his name is Jack Fuche

he bought the very first Thunderbolt made, and also bought this "cheater" 61 Starliner with a 406 with 390 stickers on the valve covers:bglasses:
he won this "top dog" race at Detroit Dragway

He lied to you. The first Thunderbolt went to Dick Brannan.

I think that the factory race cars are much cooler when restored to original condition rather than tubbing them and adding all of the electronics, etc.

    Very Cool. Thanks for sharing.
Love all that classic drag racing stuff. I would also agree, that the cars are cooler in the as raced condition as opposed to being tubbed with all the electronics

I wasn't at the Ford test track when the first few Thunderbolts were run and they were assigned to the new teams. I was home in South Bend street racing my 57 270 horse Corvette. Here are some pictures of that meeting and a list of the first few cars and who they went to.

    Andy,

I would suggest that you retract that statement about Mr. Brown!!

He is not calling anyone a liar, just providing information that disagrees with the word your guy put forth.

Who cares if its the first or the last? He has one of the original Thunderbolts which is a pretty elite club!!!

I see on your posting on RealOldsPower, that he said he purchased the first one available to the public..... difference between factory supported cars and public availablity.

I don't see Andy's name anywhere on the "picture collection"

I only collected the Brannan pictures because he is a friend. I don't care that much about other other Ford racing, but I feel the facts and history bear out what I said earlier. Oh, I have a few other friends that were lucky enough to have had original Thunderbolts back in the 64-67 time frame, but they sold them and moved on to newer cars or sold them because of family considerations. Oh, I don't need an apology because I don't take things said on line personally.
