Last night, while my car was parked, the horns on my car went on by themselves and I took too much time to wake up... When I disconnected the battery, they were not working and they smelled like something had melted in them.

If anyone has 1975 or older LeSabre/Electra/Riviera 4 note horns for sale, let me know! The ones in my 76 parts car are different...

Phil, I have a set here from a 75 Riviera (think the trumpet isn't working ...have to check)....but I think it is better to wait for some offers from your part of the ocean due to shipping costs... if not, you know where to reach me :beer

I removed the horns and noticed that the one that is hidden in the inner fender was the same as the one on my 76. There was already one of the two regular horns that was the new style horn so I thought that this one was probably replaced or that the factory began installating the new type of horns in march 1975. Now that I know that two of them were the newer type.

I searched in my pile of junk and found two trumpet horns identical to mine. One of them wasn't working but the other one was! So now, I just need one regular horn (the one located at the front) to make it like it was before!

I should be able to find one as it was standard in all full size Buicks.

    Thanks for your help!

This picture shows the horns that were on the car, the two flat ones on the right are the newer style. The one at the left is the older style (which I need to find) The two optionnal horns are the trumpet (which I found) and the larger flat one at the right.

The two bad trumpets (the one thatwas on my car is at the bottom and I removed the rusted one on a 75 Riviera a few years ago.[IMG]

The 76 horns are rusted but at least they work... I got this trumpet in a flea market for 5$ a few years ago, I wasn't even sure it was the same as mine but it's identical, and it works!

    Phil,

Did you check the relay under the dashboard ? Something caused the horns to start honking.
(in the middle of the night    )

Since the power to the horns is switched on by this relay, maybe you should test it first :TU:

(My cars also wake the neigbours up, but only when I'm in them)
