Ok, the saga continues. I first needed a complete console. Mine is rotted from salt and ashes. It's good except for a couple of spots, long story. Anyhow, I Ebayed and won, the top half is in good shape, however, the bottom has two cracks in it. It can be fixed, but if by chance I could find a good bottom, that's the route I'd perfer. So I will own two consoles, one that needs repaired, anyone here fix pot metal or what ever it is? Ray needs and gets first shot at the extra boot ring. When it's all said and done, all I want is one decent complete console. Any one here have some console parts available? So far I have more invested in this darn thing than one whole Skylark ou: Thanks for the help, Rich
tach housing? Hi Rich! I feel for ya man! Buick manual console stuff is gettin darn hard to find anymore . . . in fact, I just sold my ONLY EXTRA console tachometer housing. . . :eek2: I need to replace this part. . .so, that "salt and ashes ruined" top half console you have. . by chance do you want to sell just the console tach housing, pitted er not? OR, wanna part with just the whole console top assy? I may be interested. :beer Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I may have. I'm working on another right now. In the end I will get a good one and sell the other parts. Give me some time to figure it out. The one that's bad, it's ashame because the top half is in really good shape. I'm thinking that I'll use epoxy and repair the old one. Figure epoxy would be easier to work with than metal. I contacted the guy that paints the chrome (Can't remember his name, I'm on the road) anyhow once I have all the prep done, I going to have it spray chromed. I figure why not, it's not worth anything right now and there is no since putting $600.00 into it to fix a $500.00 console to not have it perfect. Did you see that NOS housing on Ebay? I think it sold for like $187.00, that's just nuts o No: Stay tuned, Rich
