    I have a 68 GS400 conv.
I am looking at installing a 430 from a 68 Wildcat. I plan to use my TH400 tranny. Will everything bolt up? What would I have problems with? The only reason I am looking at doing this is to bench my numbers matching 400.
    Thanks,
    Gil

    Thanks Ed...

Will the radiator, linkages, and exhaust bolt up or do I need to make modifications?

    Thanks in advance,

the engines are identical. everything will be a direct swap. once it's in you wonrt be able to see a visual difference. the only actual difference is that the pistons are a bit bigger.

Compare your oil pans. I'm not sure which years or models, but some of the larger Buicks use a center sump oil pan. The GS has a rear sump oil pan. If you do have to swap the pans, you'll also have to swap the oil pick-up tubes. It's a direct swap. Also you may have to swap accessories and brackets, pulleys, steering pump, etc.
