I have a 66 Skylark GS with the 2 speed auto tranny, will the 400 turbo tranny bolt up to everthing? Will the driveshaft work? How about the crossmember? I can handle the misc. stuff like cables and fluid lines

You can make ANYTHING work...a hammer and a sawzall. If you get the short tailshaft on the 400 it'd probably work with the driveshaft...I never saw the underside of your car...but worse case scenario with the crossmember is u'll have to bang up the floor a little bit. Like I said...hammer and a sawzall :Brow:

You didn't say what engine you have. If you have a nailhead you will need a nailhead bolt pattern trany. Unless you want too go with the extra expenes of an adapter, if they even make one for this application. Crossmember will be useable with out mods. If I remember right the drive shaft will have too be shortend.

I don't know which bellhousing style the GS received, but the big cars had a nailhead with the newer BOP bellhousing in 66. At least the Rivs were. The 4-door LeSabre my engine came out of also had the newer pattern. Easiest way to know - take a look. If its round kind of like a mopar bellhousing, you'll need an adapter.

Check the Nailhead forum. All sorts of discussion on this topic there - including where to get adapters for the older bellhousing.
