Can you swap a 425 into a 55 super riv easily or does it require lots of modifications? If so I think I may try and find a 60's riv and transplant the whole engine/drivetrain including rear end into my 55. :3gears:
425 swap You can swap it in but requires much fabrication. The trans bellhousings are different, so you need to use one from a 401-425 (preferably the sp400) now you will need to swap out the rear for an open drive rear. You will need to make new engine, trans mounts, rear suspension, locating bars etc... You will need different manifolds for exhaust (although the 322 will bolt to the 425.) It sure can be done, and I think it is worth it but it is no small task.
