454 Casting Number ?'s

    Ok guys got a good one for you. The motor is supposedly out of a 76 Truck but it has Hi - Perf stamped in 2 spots on the block. Never seen or heard of any of these before. Is this motor special some how?? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Drivers side head - (F11 - 4) (GM3T) PASS (348238)
    Passenger side head - (F27-4) (GM4T) PASS (348238)
    Above Timing Chain -T0709FBH
    Near Bellhousing - 14015445 GM 1P CFD 122
    Pass Side Near Timing Chain - CEV553770
    Rear of Motor Near Rear Main Stamped Hi Perf
    Above Oil Filter On Block Stamped HI Perf PASS

    According to Mortec, heres what the block came from. Check the size of the oil pressure fitting hole to see if it's a 2 bolt or 4 bolt block.

    14015445...454.......78-90...2 or 4 bolt

    I think every BBC engine I have ever seen is marked HI-PERF.

    I had a 454 block that someone at the foundry had fun with.

    The F and the P were left out of Hi perf pass in the casting so it said
    "Hi per ass"
