455 crank needed

Hi guys,

I'm new to the board and just bought a 71 Skylark. The car came with a 455 in a basket, and the crank is junk. I'm in the process of trying to get the motor rebuilt and would like a good crank. I'm located on Long Island and would prefer to be able to pick it up but will pay shipping if none available local.

Nick do not exclude a 430 cid as a donor.

 

Try Bruno Depalma (sp?), he lives on Long Island and he's got alot of stuff. Larry or Mooney can get in touch with him.

 

Why not more then 430? I'm curious, as I would have to get a different block to do this as well, since as I've read so far the crank is the same for both the 430 and 455? Different bore.

I believe the 400, 430 and 455 are all the same. We see a lot of 430 engines but very few 400s.

The casting no. for crank for 400, 430 and 455 is the same.
It means big block Buick 1967-76.

i seen one for sale on ebay with bearings from maddog.
