Lightly used cam and lifters. less than 25 1/4 mile passes. Went to this after my postons gs110, ran than same times. So I went bigger to a TA308S ,still ran the same times.......that's when I knew I needed more head, not more cam. Cam ran 11.0s in a 3850 pound car, 464, about 11.5 compression, iron stage 1 heads. It would be for the iron head 464 that's in the car now. I run the kb107 now which I know is leaving something on the table but damn do I love that cam!
I ran 4.10's it's been a few years and I didn't put tons of passes on it. But I normally shift 6200, but have taken it to 6700 in 1s and second to make some time up when it dribbled. I think it went 62,63 through the top end
Have the lifter's in order, will get some pics early next week when I get back in town if that matters......all pics of cam look about the same.
The cam I have is designed more for a iron head or stage1 al.head motor. The int/exh. duration split is more than a comparable cam with less duration split designed for a stage2 head. gary
I was running iron heads, stage valve flowing roughly 250/200. I can't remember the exact numbers now. I gave them all my specs.....they gave me this. It worked as well as a larger 308s cam on my combo, but didn't do any better than my Poston gs110. I know my iron head's were OK, but there is better flowing iron heads out there. There might be better suited grinds for sure.......but this is a low 11 second or faster cam with the right setup
My pistons were flat top notched jes, never measured to see how much clearance there was or if they were required to be notched.......
I know nothing about cams... but i was picking up a 75 455 supposed to have siper low miles, 32,000.... i dont have 12k to build it sonwas looking for affordable upgrades such as maybe cam, better intake and maybe better pistons.... would this cam be a candidate or is it too much?
This is a pretty good sized cam, if going to better pistons like flat tops with valve notches I can say you will clear everything......that's what we ran.......if it clears non notched pistons I can't say. But if stk pistons in a 75 motor you will want more compression anyways. If using iron heads, I did run TAs stage1 plus springs on my iron heads with this cam with the 430 rockers arms with no binding or float. I did have to had the guides trimmed down cause stk guides didn't have enough clearance in the retainer to guide for my liking........I had them trim down and turned for .500 seals, real easy thing to have done. Cam will like some gears and converter as well
