Picked up a set of used Hooker Super Comps, or so the seller claimed, for my 455 in my GS, bare headers, pretty decent shape, couple dents up top near control arms. Anyhow they came without collectors,or reducers as they are called now, so I went to Hooker site to see what reducers fit these and then to try and find cheaper alternatives off eBay, Hooker says they are 3" and offer a part number, I measured the rear exit and they are 3.25" and center to center bolt spacing is 3.875". Did Hooker make a different header than their current production 1203HKR? These don't have the badge near collector like my Pontiac super comps have, no part number found anywhere on these headers, #7 is only free tube, rest are flanged together, they have large runners, 2.125" or 2.25", they are very heavy, even heavier than the Pontiac style of theirs I have, but they are longer... Do 3.25" reducers exist, or would 3.5" reducers be what I am looking for? I would like them to have a 2.25" output to hook up to the exhaust I picked out for her, Thrush welded knock offs... Thanks for the forthcoming assist...:bglasses:
http://www.centuryperformance.com/files/sdh/tech/collector_dims.gif Found my own answer, they are 3.5" style... Perhaps older Hookers were that size or he gave me wrong brand name, either way $150 for a decent set of headers was worth it to me, that $650 price tag was a shocker for new ones...
