Anybody have a good 455 manual flywheel? I could actually use 2 of them. Are the 350 and 455 the same? Thanks. Ron
i have a flywheel from a 400 buick good cond. $200 plus shipping also have a bell housing and a hays pressure plate let me know if you or anyone else are interested
Ron, To answer your question, No, the flywheels are different. The 340-350 use a 10.4" P.Plate/Disc and have different balance. The Big Blocks (400-430-455) are interchangeable, but hard to find anymore. T/A sells a billet unit for around $290. Put one on my car, very nice. The 400 part offered will work, check on shipping as this is international shipping. Best bet is if it could come from Detroit and skip tarrifs and the Canada Postal folks (bad experiance). Also, the 350 will not bolt on to a BBB crank. There are no other interchanges available and most parts houses will try to sell you a flex plate. Just my .02. Personally I'd buy the used part if it spec's out. Jim '69 GS California 455 Stage 1/4 speed/3.31 12 bolt Passes everything but gas stations
flywheel Thanks for the information Jim. I can get a new billet flywheel for $257. Looks like that is what I need to do. Thanks again. Ron
