As subject says, looking for the block that goes onto a 455 positive battery cable, 70-72 are all the same I believe....(its for a 72 GS). Needs to be decent shape. Thanks Tim
Sure, no worries. Big block GS cars and the full size too I believe had a "composite" block that the positive cable went through. This block also had a channel for the starter wires to pass through. This whole thing then slides down into the bracket that bolts ot the passenger side of the engine block. Keeps the cabels secure and protected from all the sharp edges down there. Pic attached. the cable would have to be cut to remove the block. later Tim
Another pic from the other side. You can see it has all kinds of odd molded in stubs and things to keep it in the bracket. I could make one I suppose but would prefer to buy correct one. I have correct all red cable on the way, would like this piece to finish it off properly, thats why I need good condition. later Tim
TimR, Are you talking about the plastic "block" that goes inside the metal part that is bolted to the lower driver's side of the engine?
Yes, that is it. I think I have one from a 70 Wildcat! Email me direct GStage1@buickperformance.com I will look for it tomorrow.
George, fire me an e-maiail at ritc1@shaw.ca and lets get it set up. Don't need the whole cable either, can just cut it off at front of block (aft end with starter terminal would be good). I'll bet the whole mess would fit in a padded envelope... Please make sure block is not cracked or distorted in any areas....might be the core for a mold... later Tim
