 Hi everyone, I am almost done with roll bar install and have another question, I have seats from a 96 regal GS in my car and was wondering if its OK to run the center lower belt over the front edge of seat or do I need to have a opening put in the seat to get the belt back closer to the driver? :3gears: Tom

You don't need an opening for the crotch strap, but it will be more effictive in keeping you from sliding under the lap belt if you have an opening in the seat bottom.

Ditto what Rob said and also....I believe NHRA has a rule that the crotch belt must go through the seat, EXCEPT they make an exception for stock seats. So, you would be legal if you don't want to cut the seat, but not quite as secure. That's why race seats have a slot in the bottom. good luck.

 Hi guys, That is good news, I didn't really want to cut a hole in my front seat for a belt. I set it up so I can leave the 96 regal back seat in place even though you can't get to it any more for a "street" car look. But the wife says its getting away from a street car kinda fast the last couple years:laugh:. I told her I have to put it in because they will make me sooner or later and that a friend having a bad wreck at my home track motivated me to install it, which it did, kinda opened my eyes that things can go horribly wrong at anytime to any one, but I am kinda hoping it will make the car more consistant also. I guess I will have to see about that. It is going to take me awhile to get used to being in a 5 way harness to probably. Speaking of the harness, is it worth the extra money to get the turn type lock instead of the lever type? The lever type looks like a pain to get all hooked together. :beer :3gears: Tom

 Hello, I have been told by a fellow racer that RCI has belts that are good for 4 years for $99. Has anyone else heard or seen these belts? It sounds like a good deal to me if its true. :3gears: Tom

    A) I love the cam-lock type of harness. I used to have the lever type and the only thing that's better about that type is that it's cheaper! The cam-lock is easier and better. I've been using them for 7 or 8 years now.
    B) I just bought those new RCI "Platinum" belts for that 4 year deal. Only $10 extra cost and you send them back in two years. They don't recertify them though. They REPLACE them! That's a GREAT deal for only ten bucks more!
    C) The $99 price must be for the lever type. I paid $150 for the cam-lock belts just last month.
    D) Good Luck!

Hi, Thanks for the info guys, My friend who told me about the belts found me a set on ebay for $111 with all the shipping and stuff for the camlock belts. At least I think they are the camlock belts from the add. I emailed the person about them but have not checked to see if I got a responce yet. My mistake, I just looked at the auction again, your right Doug, its for lever type. Tom
