Yeah, I know, it's not a Buick, but I figured what the heck, someone here might have one, or know someone who has a decent project car for sale.
If it's an old drag car, that would be a plus, as long as it's not back-halved. Not interested in a tubbed turd-roller, that fad is dead, and hopefully never returns.

Closer to Michigan the better, but the right car might require shipping.

    Thanks,
    Tom:TU:

    Tom,
You asked. I have a 1956 four door Chevy Belair wagon I would sell. It has a straight front axle and a one piece tilt fiberglass front end. 350 3 speed on the floor. Reasonable body with a lot a patchwork done to the floor. I bought it for parts but most everything is there for the car. good title and VIN number. I would sell it for $2200. Near Pittsburgh PA

My dad's first car was a '57 Bel Air 4-dr, on my bucket list of cars I want to own someday.

    Sweet wagon though!

I looked at the 56 and passed until I bought a 57 four door wagon. I went back and got the 56. The 56 has all the glass I need for the 57 but if it sells I'll buy new glass.

The 1957 is a solid car that is going to stay "ugly" and be a driver. No new paint, no new chrome, no new interior. It's going to stay the way I bought it. 283 with three on the tree. Needs some upgrades before spring but I am going to drive it and not worry about where I park it, who's kid rides their bike beside it or what kind of leash the dog has on. I have a nice 63 Riv and 67 400 4 speed Conv that would concern me more. The 57 just arrived from Colorado and was an ebay find. First day listed and an agreed on price.

Tom, how about a 57 210 here in the Cleveland area? Check out Ohio Craigslist-Cleveland. Nice 210 roller project. Tom

    Thanks guy's.:TU:

Paul, thanks for the offer on the wagon, but I'm really wanting a coupe of some type.
I'm beginning to think the price of admission to purchase a 55 or 57 may price me into a different car.

Once you lay out that much cash up front for purchase, there is none left for project completion, that is why I sold the 66 Nova that I had,too much wrapped-up into it from the moment it was loaded onto my trailer.

ill tell you what paul, i have never really wanted a tri five but for some reasons im starting to love wagons. im not trying to hijack toms thread but that thing is pretty darn tempting. i know its a big project but is the front one pieces clip at least functioning where it will open or just sitting on there. dan

Front clip tilts as it should but there is a hole were there should be a scoop or at least a blower sticking up thru it. Car was last on the road ,to my limited knowledge , in the early seventies. It has an old Ohio plate on the back. Car needs all redone but too good to part out. I bought it for the glass for my wagon but can buy new.

Interesting that we are all talking 57 Chevy here on the Buick board. I'm looking for a 57 Chevy 2dr. hardtop body. I just got a 57 4dr Belair last night but would really like to find a 2 dr. Yes I know they cost but a body is all I need and would not have to have a front clip. My 22 year old granddaughter that has terminal cancer wants to get a 57 after she saw one on Barrett-Jackson. I want to get her one and I will do the mechanical and then take it to Texas for her and her father to paint. Problem is I don't know if we are going to get one and get it finished in time. That's why I got the 4 dr last night, it has had the interior done and a lot of body work finished. I'm going to stick the usual 350-700r4 in it and let her dad and her paint it.

The guy that was to buy the wagon backed out. I think it may go via piece by piece as I need the glass for my 57 wagon. Anybody in the market for a one piece fiberglass tilt front end?
