57 Suspension Conversion to 59

I am in the process of converting my 57 Roadmaster to a 59 suspension. I have all the parts and am in the process of installing it.

I see that the upper A arm from the 59 hits the frame on the 57. The lower A arm fit right in with only the necessity to increase the mounting hole sizes.

I have heard that this can be done, but not sure that I have ever talked to someone who has actually done it. The interference is pretty significant and cutting into the frame to make clearance is no minor task. It can be done, but is in a pretty critical location and there are rivets holding everything together right there. It looks like I can still use the upper A arm from the 57, but that means the expensive and (apparently) unreliable 57 ball joints.

Has anyone out there actually done this conversion and can enlighten me as to what they did to overcome this intererence?
