While crusing Ecology I found a early 60's Lesaber w/nail head intact. W/o going back how do I determing the cid of thisnailhead and anyone see parts they can use???
I don't know the year of the car, but on the front of the engine where the valley pan lip is, look for the stamped numbers. Here is a guide to decipher them. My guess is that is a 401, but could be a 364. From the interior shot with the column shifter, it appears to have a dynaslow, so that makes it 63 and earlier. 64 and up have the ST400. http://www.buicks.net/shop/reference/nailhead_casting_numbers.html
Re: 364 ci ?? You could get the 1962 or 1963 modelyear 401 with a 2 or 4 bbl carb. In the interiorpicture I noticed that LeSabre is written as Le Sabre? In every book and manual it's listed as LeSabre o No:
Yea, It's a 62 for sure. If it is the correct motor that came in the car it has to be a 401, that's the only size there was for full size cars in 62
sure is a shame that car is goin to waste wish i knew where it was and that it was near by id pick it up for the shell and bring her back from the dead
