2300 looks like a reasonable price.

I think it's a high-dollar classic today. 2300 sounds good, if you want a project.

61 lesabre's don't bring big dollars typically unless they are hardtop coupes.

I know for sure that one post on an American car board in Sweden will make it end up in that country :TU:

True I guess, since I don't know what others consider to be "big bucks".

I have been following 61 pricing for a number of years, since I own two and have looked at many more. Most converts sell for less $20k, and I have seen only a few in the thirties. I don't consider that "big bucks", and I think very few would sell for close to the cost of a restoration. Check Mecum and BJ results and I don't think you will see any with a hammer price above $35k. I routinely see hardtops in the 20's and 30's, occasionally going into the 40's, and on a rare occasion into the 60's/70's.

I think it is because "most" people prefer the lines of the hardtop (since you still have a bubbletop, whereas you lose that in a convert), so they spend more money on them and more money to buy them. I have seen customized 61 hardtops, and stock 61 hardtop's, typically go for more money than a comparable convertible. And a few have reached "big bucks".
