Its time to finally start selling cars and parts as I have way to many. This motor was built a few years back and I sold it to a board member. Needless to say the motor never made it into his car and I bought it back because I knew it was a quality piece. It was built by John Massoud and Precision Engine in Dighton MA and dynoed out at 612hp. I am selling this motor complete minus the carb, distributor. It features JE lightweight pistons, ta stage 2 track eliminators, kenne bell wildcat/coolrunner intake modified for tall port, ta solid cam, ta 1.65 rockers, sfi balancer, sfi flexplate, good hardware, good bearing clearances, drilled for extra head studs, and a great builder/machine shop. I put this in a full weight street driven 72 stage one and at Cecil last year and went 126 mph with it and low 11's with a bad posi. My 60' times were in the 190's, so with a good rear it would have been an easy 10 second pass. It is still in the car so you can hear it run again before I pull it. I took a deposit on the car and the new owner is putting the car back to stock so the motor must go. I am asking 5500 for the motor with the rockers 4900 without, and the buyer will get first shot at some other parts I have for sale. Please do not ask about other cars or parts for sale, when I am ready to sell them I will post here on the board. Here is a link to the dyno pull on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFbxrM3mMFc Thanks Herb
Thanks for the plug Doug, I have over 4500 into the top half of this motor between the heads, port work, intake mods, rockers ect....
To answer some questions pmed to me the motor was broken in on the dyno with brad penn oil. It has had 5 quarter mile drag passes on it, and about 100 street miles. It has been run on premium fuel that you would get at any gas station 92/93 octane. Also first to say i'll take it in the post gets the engine. Thanks for the interest. Herb
I wish I could buy this as I am sure its a great deal I cannot, but if I had posted like Ryan did I would be a little upset. Are we giving up on the rules now? Sorry if this offends anyone and Ryan might have backed out but it appears that procedure isn't being followed. I just hope if I was in line I would get a fair shake
John, Ryan sent me a pm with his phone number and I answered his questions and explained to him it was first come first serve per my disclaimer, he said he wanted to think about it and understood my stance. He then posted interested after we spoke on the phone. If he had posted i'll take it I would be in total agreement. Jay is a personal friend of mine who I see at all the events and hang out with. He has also purchased parts and engines from me in the past, he was unable to get to a computer so that is why I posted for him. If you dont believe me and think there is something shady going on I would hope a moderator would look at the time line of posts and pms and confirm what I have said. Thanks Herb
John, Herb and I talked and we are all good. I backed out after getting more information and did not have a chance to get on the board till now to post that I am out Herb, Great to talk with you today and I hope we can meet up at the nats. Thank you again for answering all my questions about the motor and good luck with the sale.
I'll take it.I hope that makes it better.I tried to get online on my friends phone but my fingers were to fat
Not a problem as I stated it might have been just this kind of deal. I appreciate your clearing it up. I have to admit as I was writing I had a feeling Herb was doing it right, but the perception was bad. Jay Bird congrats, I bet your going to enjoy that Massoud power And Ryan you missed out dude! I cannot imagine a better deal on a potent BBB. Now back to work
Not involved in any way, but just so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who can't type on them little phone buttons
Damn that would have been a perfect fit for my 72 GSX, Sunburst yellow, black vinyl top, console auto stage 1. Always a day late.
