I guess this is half question, half rant. I guess my 1964 Special came from the factory with glue-in glass. I need to re-attach my door and quarter window glass, so do you guys use a hard-setting 2 part epoxy?

Sorry but all my GM car experience has been with bolt in glass (at least on the doors). I thought only Ford had that bad idea when I got into my 69 Mercury Cougar. On that car they recommend a 2 part epoxy, but the brackets are large aluminum castings with a channel for the glass. My Special has thin, long brackets which the window (glues?) into. Any help appreciated on what is good to use.

I use a sort of tape. I can't remember what it is actually called but I use the same stuff to put the quarter glass moldings on. It's like a rubber tape. I soak it with oil, install the channel, then place masking tape around them so they can't move. The rubber tape absorbs the oil and expands it and once it's dry it's on there forever. Go to an auto glass place, one that has been around a long time would be best. Explain to them what you need to do and they should be able to help you. That's where I got my tape.
