I purchased this 64 riviera last year with the rear window sitting in the back seat. The lower rear window frame has been repaired with what looks to be fiberglass before I bought it. I know it's not the ideal way to fix it but I neither have the time or money to fix it correctly right now. My question is how is the rear window installed? Is it just 'glued' in or is there some other special method that I am not aware of? The car is older than I am so I am not THAT familiar with these types of problems.

    Thanks

    Use this.

Link is just to show you what to use. Not saying you have to buy from this place. A good local auto parts may have it in stock or at a minimum can order it for you if you don't want to buy online.

The fiberglass is OK if done properly. Just make sure the pinch weld where the glass sits is the proper contour after the repair was done. The ribbon will allow some margin of error and still seal. Follow the directions on the package.
