Brian Stone has one, I don't know about rarity though. Post in "The Bench", you might get more response. Mark
As Mark said, I have one. I have put my eyes on two others in my life and that is it. I have heard of probably 5 or 6 on this board and other places over the years. Pretty rare car. If it has the posi rear, and armrest storage console between the seats it is even rarer. A few of the ones I have heard tale of over the years were also convertibles--that is the rareist version. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Stonesautomotive@juno.com
The deal here is I know a guy that has 3 64 skylarks he is wanting to get rid of, 1 of them is a v8 4speed 4 barrel non a/c car that he bought when it had 24,000 miles think he said he was the second owner, then he has another 64 automatic air car, v8, 2 barrel that he bought for parts, then he has a 4 door v6 parts car. Im interested in the 4 speed car and the other 2 door car, They both need alot of work but the auto car would only be a parts car. Im trying to debate wether I should buy them or not even mess with them. Thats why I wanted to know if it is a rare car or not.
Is the 4-speed car complete? As long as it still has the original transmission, original Hurst shifter and consolette around the shifter, you are good to go. Those are the un-obtainable parts. The shifter is a factory Hurst unique to the 64 Skylark. The linkage, mounting plate and everything is unique to the Skylarks. Transmission is T-10. Here is what it should look like:
Yes it is complete, looks like the one you have in the picture, but a whole lot dirtier, but it does not have the console between the seats, and somewhat rusty but not as bad as the other 2 door he has
