Okay. Pulled the engine and tranny out of my 64 Skylark to put in my 64 LeSabre. One problem. The tranny will not fit into the LeSabre. Due to clearance problems the tranny mount wont go back far enough to bolt to the crossmember. The bell housing seems to hit the firewall as well as the rear of the transmission housing hitting the hump. I think maybe a thinner tranny mount is needed but dont know for sure. This tranny whined like an S/T when it was in the skylark so I dont think its a TH350 but who am I to say. Thought this would be an easy swap as these cars are the same year and used the same drive train (or so I was told.) I didnt see any way to move the crossmember forward and even if I moved it forward it still appears the tranny will be toooo short to match up with the yoke from the driveshaft(which appears to be larger diameter than the output shaft). But thats another issure entirely. The motor is a 300 and the mounts will need to be welded to the frame so I have some room to maneuver things around. Any advice here would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve
