65 Buick Skylark 401 LT motor (auto trans) complete, with many hard to fine components. Removed from a 65 Skylark GS. Replacement motor installed in 1967; Interesting story passed on from the cars original owner.

Skylark oil pan (rear sump) and dip stick
    Power steering pump with pulley
    alternator (65 AMP) with pulley
    Delco A6 AC compressor
Above accessories include all mounting brackets.
    Pancake air cleaner
    Skylark exhaust manifolds
Skylark motor mounts and frame pads
    Starter
    Fuel pump
    Distributor
    Coil with mounting bracket
    Carter AFB 3921S. L5
    Fan and pulleys.
Yep it’s all there, even the hard to find fuel filter bracket, and switch pitch components.
Heads where pulled to inspect the valves, then the cylinder walls were coated with grease and the heads were reinstalled.
I drove the car into the shop, shut it off let it cool and pulled the motor five years ago. The engine has been in a climate controlled environment since. I clean and painted the engine for display in my shop. This engine needs rebuilding. There are two busted head bolts that will need to be drilled and retapped
Super Turbine 300 transmission, assembled with above engine. Drove and shifted fine. Leaks transmission fluid from several areas. Could use a rebuild.
Shipping would be pricy, lots of mass here, It’s available for pickup in northwestern
Ohio. I can load package onto a pickup or trailer.
Engine stand included and I’ll toss in a drip pan for the transmission.
Lots of hard to find parts here. My preference is to sell everything as a package. C8122E23-1D62-4A09-AB4D-CA1D04330DF8.jpeg 9FCA8392-DEAA-4A23-9BCB-DB052A80D7CE.jpeg 3F27CC4F-6212-41F6-9161-77FB5339E573.jpeg

So this engine spent a total of 2 years in the car before being pulled? And hasn't been in a car since? That's how a read your top paragraph.

But later, it says you drove the car into the shop, let it cool, then pulled this engine out. So this is confusing to me at least.

Has 2 broken head bolts. Anything else broken/missing? Besides the headbolts, why does the engine need rebuilding?

The engine was installed in the car in 1967, its been in the car for 49 years. I removed the engine from the car in 2016 while restoring the car. The only damaged parts are two head bolts. I bought the car in 2015 so I don’t have the full history on the motor. The engine is 55 years old, I thought it lacked power.

OK. Now I understand the history better, and your suggestion/recommendation. Makes sense. Thanks.
